I have already planned 3 programs/activities to infuse technology into my classroom. The first is creating accounts for each of my students for discoveryeducation.com and kidbiz3000.com. The first site is a science based program with my big issue of getting to teach and learn science. This account will give the students access to do labs, review lessons that are already created, and so forth. The second site is a non-fiction reading oriented site. Here, the students read AP articles and work on reading strategies, comprehension, etc. The final way I chose is power point presentations for their digital portfolios. Each student will have a thumbdrive to create a digital portfolio rather than an old fashioned hard copy one. I will also continue to learn and push smartboard activities as well as accelarated math and so forth.
Keoni, I am impressed by your technology ideas for your class. I think it is a great thing for you to do to get an account for each of your students. I am not familiar with this, is it expensive? Also, your portfolio ideas are going to be great. I want to give it a try this year for my kids also. I hope we are both successful. Nancy Bedard
